Having secured four wins already this year, the Nielsen-run team added another win to the tally with Alasdair McCaig and Colin Noble on Saturday and followed that up with the runner-up position on the Sunday.  Here’s the story of the weekend….

“It was a good stint. I had heavy contact at the first turn from O’ Keeffe, so that was a real moment as I nearly spun and then ran wide onto the astro. From there it was just keeping it consistent and not worrying about the Pro car ahead. I handed over to Colin in a good position, and he did a great job to bring the car home with the victory.”

Noble

“That was as hard as it gets. The racing here in this championship is just as intense as in Europe (Le Mans Cup) and we had to really push to get the win.”

“My rear tyres overheated badly in my stint due to the increased temperatures. I radioed in for a change for Colin but overall while the car was good, we lost a little compared to yesterday. Tony (Wells) raised his game today, so United Autosports had the legs on us.”

“We are happy with the result, would rather be P1, but second today is fine. The car was a little off but that’s probably the same for all of us out there today. Silverstone is done now and we have the points we need with two races to go.”

Ecurie Ecosse now turns their attention back to the Michelin Le Mans Cup, with the next round taking place later this month at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. The  LMP3 Cup continues at Snetterton on August 12-13th.
